In what Broncos' Coach and GM Mark Lamb described as a deal to improve their depth, Swift Current sent a 5th round 2012 Bantam Draft pick to Seattle for 18-year-old defenseman Ryan Aasman.
The move brings the Broncos up to 8 defensemen on their roster, but 19-year-old Joel Rogers is currently out with a lower body injury.
Aasman is in his third full WHL season and was originally a first round bantam draft pick of the Prince Albert Raiders.
The 18-year-old put up 9 points in 69 games last season, split between the Raiders and Thunderbirds.
He scored 15 points in 31 games as a 15-year-old for the Medicine Hat AAA Midget club.
Aasman is expected to join the team in time for their three-game weekend starting tomorrow in Regina.
