The Swift Current Broncos have bolstered their blueline for a second week in a row.

Last week they added German-defenceman Rayan Bettahar in the CHL Import Draft and today they struck a deal with the Brandon Wheat Kings, acquiring defenceman Rylan Thiessen.

Headed to Brandon in the trade is a conditional ninth-round pick in the 2021 WHL Draft that takes place in December.

The 20-year-old has logged 56 games at the WHL level, splitting playing time between Brandon and Lethbridge Hurricanes. During that time he's accumulated 13 points, with one of those being a goal.

This past WHL shortened season he dressed in 17 games for Brandon racking up seven points.

Swift Current now has six 20-year-olds on their roster for next year in Cole Nagy, Aiden Bulych, Alex Moar, Cayde Augustine, Isaac Poulter, and Thiessen.
