The Swift Current Broncos have added 19-year-old defenceman Erik Fleming from the Seattle Thunderbirds in exchange for future considerations in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft.

Fleming has 156 games of WHL experience and has put up 15 points over that time.

"He (Fleming) is a veteran defenceman with a lot of experience in the Western Hockey League," said Bronco Coach/GM Mark Lamb. "He will bring a lot of value and depth to our team's young defence."

The Broncos re-assigned rookie defenceman Bobby Zinkan to the Major Midget AAA Calgary Northstars earlier this week. They now have eight defencemen on the roster, but are without veteran Jordan Evans due to what is being described as an upper body injury.

In other WHL trade news, the Moose Jaw Warriors have added overage forward Kenton Miller and 19-year-old Justin Kirch from the Calgary Hitmen in a deal for overage defenceman Collin Bowman, 18-year-old forward Joey Kornelsen and a 4th round pick in the 2012 Bantam Draft.

Swift Current is in Prince Albert tomorrow night. They host Medicine Hat on Friday. You can hear both games live on The Eagle 94.1 FM.
