Two teams trending in different directions are set to face off tonight at the Innovation Credit Union iPlex.

The Swift Current Broncos, who were buyers at the WHL Trade Deadline host the Prince George Cougars, a team who sold the present for the future before that January 10 deadline.

One of the players the Cougars sold of course is defenceman Josh Anderson, who has made himself at home with the Swift Current Broncos since that acquisition.

Getting a win for the defenceman in his first game against his former team would be a nice touch, according to Broncos' captain Glenn Gawdin.

"Yeah it's huge. Obviously we're going to try to do it for him and he's going to want to win just as badly (after) getting traded from there and being there for most of his career," noted Gawdin, adding they need to focus on the game plan, not solely on a narrative.

"But, we're going to look at it as we look at any game. We're going into our home barn, and we're going to go in there to win and play our game. If we do that, we have a good chance to win."

The Broncos come into the game with a 7-2-0-1 record in their last ten games, while the Cougars are 3-6-0-1 in that same stretch.

"They're a younger team, but they'll be ready to go," said Broncos' associate coach Ryan Smith of the opponent they only see once annually. "They're on a road trip, they're swinging through the east here - I'm sure they'll be fired up to play. It's never easy - PG is a heavy team, they play fast."
