The Swift Current Broncos got a big 5-2 win over Saskatoon Wednesday night to wrap up the first half of the season.

Goals from Carter Rigby, Zac Mackay and two from captain Colby Cave helped the Broncos jump out to a 4-0 lead by the middle of the second period. Coda Gordon then scored for the Broncos early in the third period to make it a 5-1 lead at that point. Nikita Soshin and Brett Stovin scored the goals for Saskatoon.

Cave wrapped up the night with two goals and an assist, and Glenn Gawdin also had a three-point night with three helpers. Rigby also had an assist, and Brett Lernout, Cavin Leth, Jake DeBrusk and Max Lajoie also picked up assists.

Landon Bow stopped 24 shots for his 16th win of the season as the Broncos outshot the Blades 39-26.

The Broncos sit third in the WHL's East Division with a 17-14-0-4 record heading into the week-long Christmas Break. They host the Regina Pats in their next game on December 27th.
