The Swift Current Broncos beat the Portland Winterhawks 6-2 in their first and only meeting of the year at the Credit Union iplex last night.

     Justin Dowling had a 3-point night with two goals and an assist, and Geordie Wudrick scored his first two goals of the season in the game.  Matt Tassone and Jan Dalecky rounded out the scoring for the Broncos.  Oliver Gabriel and Radim Vachar replied for the Hawks.

     Broncos' Goalie Travis Yonkman made 22 saves for the win, while Kurtis Mucha took the loss, making 41 saves.

     The Broncos split the two-game weekend and sit second in the East Division with a 10-5-0-0 record.  They are one point behind the division-leading Saskatoon Blades, who they will visit on Tuesday.
