The Swift Current Broncos bounced back from Friday's disappointing loss to Saskatoon, with a 4-0 victory over the Red Deer Rebels at home last night.

Goalie Jon Groenheyde picked up his first career WHL shutout, making 25 saves as the Rebels outshot the Broncos 25-21. Deven Dubnyk countered with 17 stops for the Rebels.

The Broncos got on the board early, with Andy Blanke scoring just a minute into the game. The goal stood up all the way to the third, where the Broncos added to the lead with markers from Reece Scarlett, Josh Derko and Coda Gordon. Taylor Vause also picked up a pair of assists.

With the win, the Broncos move to within four points of the Rebels for ninth in the WHL Eastern Conference, and are now just eight points back of Brandon for the final playoff spot.

The Broncos' next action is Tuesday, when they host Mark Habscheid and the Victoria Royals.
