Dealing with some injuries on their back end, the Swift Current Broncos have called up 16-year-old defenceman Max Lajoie.
Lajoie plays Calgary Royals in Alberta Midget AAA. The 6’, 173-pound Calgary native had three assists in seven pre-season games with Swift Current.
He had two goals and four assists in four games at the Mac's tournament this week. He has 8 goals and 4 assists in 22 league games.
Lajoie was selected by the Broncos in the 5th round, 95th overall, of the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft.
Swift Current is missing defencemen Julius Honka, Dillon Heatherington and Jordan Harris from their lineup. Honka is playing for Finland at the World Junior Championship and the other two are hurt.
The Broncos visit Saskatoon on New Year's Day.
