The push to the playoffs continues tonight for the Swift Current Broncos as they host the Victoria Royals for the only time over two years.

Swift Current beat Red Deer 4-0 on Saturday and Assistant Coach Andy Schneider says that's the type of hard-nosed effort they need.

“We're pushing hard right now...we're considering every game. We're playing it like a playoff game because we're playing for our lives right now and we're pushing and the kids, you know, they're responding pretty good for the most part.”

He says they have to win battles and get their cycle game going to have success.

“That's a big part of our game, we're a big strong team and....we're not a fancy team, we've got to just get pucks in, we've got to cycle, and bang, and crash, and just play ugly hockey. That's the kind of team we are and that's when we're successful.”

The Broncos are eight points behind Brandon for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

They host a Royal club coached by Swift Current product Marc Habscheid. Victoria snapped a 10 game losing streak with a win over the Wheat Kings on Saturday.

Game time is at 7:05pm and there our $2.00 tickets tonight. Our broadcast starts at 6:30pm on The Eagle 94.1 FM.
