The Swift Current Broncos continue their three-game Alberta road swing tonight in Red Deer.

Swift Current has won three straight games including a 3-2 victory in Edmonton on Wednesday.

They know the Rebels will provide a tough opposition.

“It'll be a heavy game,” said Broncos associate coach Ryan Smith. “They have big bodies and a little big younger after some of the trades they made. We had a good game against them at home it went into a shootout. It will be a tight game.”

The Broncos have won both games between the two clubs so far this season, but both were in Swift Current. Both games also required overtime.

“It will be tight checking,” Smith said. “They will have some energy, they're at home... we just gotta keep going and worry about ourselves.”

Red Deer has lost four of their last five games including a 7-3 defeat at the hands of the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Wednesday.

The Rebels sit third in the WHL Central Division at 23-23-5-3. Swift Current is third in the East Division at 28-17-3-5.

The Broncos feature two of the hottest players in the WHL as of late. Tyler Steenbergen hit the 40-goal mark on Wednesday and has 36 points in his last 21 games. He is from Sylvan Lake and played minor hockey in Red Deer.

Aleksi Heponiemi carries a 12-game point streak into tonight's game and has 24 points over that span.

The Broncos are still without forward Ryan Graham who is listed as day-to-day. Forward Lane Pederson left Wednesday's game after a hit by defenceman Will Warm that earned him a charging major. Listen to our broadcast tonight for an update on their status against the Rebels.

You can hear the game on The Eagle 94.1 FM with Robertson Family Group Broncos Hockey at 7:30pm.
