The Swift Current Broncos are back on home ice this weekend in the middle of a five game stand.
They're 1-1 so far with a win over Spokane and a loss to Medicine Hat. The Broncos host Red Deer on Friday and Prince Albert on Saturday before wrapping up the homestand on Tuesday against Kootenay.
"We've been through some real tough stretches in the schedule as everybody does," said Broncos Coach/GM Mark Lamb. "It's nice (to be home) we're really comfortable here. It's nice to have the match-ups that you can get. It's a hard building for other teams to come in and play. It's well known and people talk about it all time."
"I think it has to do with how we play and we want to make it tough on teams coming here."
The Rebels are making their first of two visits to Swift Current. The Broncos split their two games in Red Deer against a strong Rebels club that is building towards hosting the Memorial Cup next season.
"They play a similar game as we do," Lamb said. "They play hard. They have more speed up front than we do, but they play a strong system. They're very detailed and they're very well coached which is no secret."
"They're a tough team to play especially on the road because they don't change anything. They play just as hard on the road as the do at home."
The Broncos enter the weekend 8 points ahead of Moose Jaw for the final guaranteed playoff spot in the East Division and 8 points back of Regina for 2nd place. You can hear both games on The Eagle 94.1 FM starting with our pre-game show at 6:30pm.
