The Swift Current Broncos
were led by Travis Bobbee and Michael Stickland's 4-point nights en
route to a 6-4 win over the visiting Regina Pats.
Stickland and Adam Lowry
both scored for the Broncos early in the game, on the power-play,
and the Broncos were up 2-0 less than five minutes in. The Broncos outshot the Pats 22-7 in the first period.
In the second period, Regina pulled even on a 5-on-3 power-play as the Broncos were
called for 5-straight second period penalties.
Michael Stickland got
his second of the game to give Swift Current the lead back; however, Cass
Mappin's long shot got by Morgan Clark late in the period, and it
was tied at 3 after two periods.
Regina took their first lead in
the third period on a nice goal by Jordan Eberle. The Broncos fought back, tying it on a Cody Eakin blast on the power-play, and Travis
Bobbee put the Broncos ahead as his seeing eye point shot got by
Damien Ketlo. Taylor Vause finished the game with an empty-netter.
Stickland and Bobbee had career nights with four
points each. Justin Dowling, Stepan Novotny, and Taylor Vause all had two
points in the win. Swift Current outshot Regina 37-29.
The Broncos were
3-7, while the Pats were 1-6 on the power-play. The win snapped the
Broncos' 2-game losing streak at home, and moves them to 32-29-0-4 on the
season.
