The Swift Current Broncos wrapped up their five game US Division road swing with a 4-2 loss in Spokane.

The loss was their third straight on the trip as they ended with five of a possible ten points.

Despite being in the game for most of the night it was a performance they were far from happy with.

“Very disappointed,” said Broncos Associate Coach Ryan Smith. “As we all are. One of our worst efforts of the year. The whole game. There's not any good points tonight. About three guys playing tonight. You can't play like that.”

The Broncos had struggled Sunday in Everett as well.

“You have to have an effort,” Smith said. “There's a lot of guys waiting for someone else to do it. There's nothing about the frame work it's about effort... care... we don't have that the last couple games.”

Swift Current had a very tough start getting scored on 31 seconds into the game as Kailer Yamamoto struck on the rebound of a Jeff Faith point shot.

The Broncos tied the score later in the period on a Giorgio Estephan slap shot, but gave up a goal to Filip Kral's point shot less than a minute later.

Swift Current played a better second period as Tyler Steenbergen set Artyom Minulin up for a very nice goal a few minutes in. Minulin took a cross-ice pass from Steenbergen only to blow by the D on his off win and tuck in a backhand.

Spokane responded with Josh Anderson broke his stick on a slap shot and ended up having the Ethan MacIndoe goal go in off his skate as he tried to defend without a stick.

The Chiefs added to their lead in the third period on another Kral point shot.

Swift Current finished their trip in the US Division 2-2-0-1.

The loss ended Aleksi Heponiemi's poin streak at 28 games.

Swift Current was missing Sahvan Khaira and Kole Gable in what are supposed to be day-to-day injuries.

Stuart Skinner made 21 saves in a losing cause.

The Broncos are back home against Regina on Saturday.
