The Broncos are back in Swift Current searching for answers after losing all five games on their US Division road swing.

They fell 5-1 in Spokane, 5-4 in Portland, 6-3 against Seattle, 4-1 in Everett and 4-1 to the Tri-City Americans. The losses dropped the Broncos to 6-8-0-1 and last place in the WHL East Division.

"It was an indication of maybe where there are some holes," said Assistant Coach Jamie Heward. "There's some deficiencies that we maybe have in certain areas that we need to tighten up on."

"There are some veteran guys who realize that when they were playing well hard work was the reason we were playing well and we are kind of getting (away) from that."

The Broncos gave up 24 goals in the 5 games on their road swing compared to only 25 goals in the 10 previous games they had played.

"Kind of go away from our crash and bang game," Heward said. "We kind of got away from our hardness. Because you're winning you try to do too much. You try to do the little plays and you try and become fancy. That's not the way we were winning before."

"We were scoring goals and being fancy because we were hard work between them."

The Broncos scored only once in 3 of the games on the road trip. The coaching staff felt like they were still getting a good number of chances and not finding away to convert on them.

"You just have to go back to the drawing board," Heward said. "We've got to go back to having good practices and making sure our fundamentals our sound... instead of doing stuff instinctively now we're over-thinking and trying to over-handle and over-analyze things. When you're winning things just flow."

"For us it's just a matter of getting back and feeling comfortable with ourselves... this is really tough time for us. It can be scary and I know the kids are all down and not happy with themselves. It's up to them to work through it."

Swift Current is back at home against the defending Eastern Conference champion Edmonton Oil Kings on Saturday night. You can hear the game on The Eagle 94.1 FM at 6:30pm.
