The Swift Current Broncos are still waiting to find out the status of two of their defencemen this week.

Broncos Coach and GM Mark Lamb is hopeful rookie Jordan Harris could return shortly.

"We're hoping he's back this weekend," Lamb said during Home Hardware's Overtime on The Eagle 94.1 FM Monday night. "He's going to have to have skates. He's ready to compete in practice and do a lot in practice now. Hopefully we have him back."

Harris has only placed once since November 29th. He returned on December 27th but got hurt in a fight during his first shift.

The Prince Albert native could play against his former team if he's back on the weekend as the Broncos host the Prince George Cougars on Saturday. That's where Harris started his WHL career before a trade to Swift Current for fellow defenceman Zach Gonek.

Meanwhile, Lamb isn't sure of defenceman Stephen Shmoorkoff's status as he left Saturday's game against Saskatoon with an injury. He also left Friday's game against the Prince Albert Raiders injured.

"It's two different injuries," Lamb said. "It wasn't the injury that kept him out (Friday), he got hurt and it was a total different injury (in Saskatoon) so we're just taking it day by day."

Forward Tanner LeSann has also been out of the lineup the last few games as he battles an illness.

"He's having a procedure done," Lamb said. "He's been really under the weather for the last month. He's starting to feel a little better."

Swift Current hosts Medicine Hat on Friday before welcoming Prince George on Friday. Those Cougars did the Broncos a favour last night with a 6-5 win over Prince Albert in the shootout.
