The Swift Current Broncos dropped a 2-1 decision to the Medicine Hat Tigers in a real defensive battle on the road last night.

Christian Magnus opened the scoring with his fifth of the season for the Broncos, but the Tigers answered with goals from Emerson Etem and Jayden Hart later in the first period, and that would prove to be the only scoring in the game.

Jon Groenheyde made 36 stops for the Broncos in a losing cause, as his team was outshot 38-36. Tyler Bunz made 35 saves in the Tigers' net.

The Broncos sit eight points behind the 8th-place Brandon Wheat Kings, who also lost in regulation last night 7-3 to the Kootenay Ice.

The Broncos return home Tuesday when the Moose Jaw Warriors come to the Credit Union iplex.
