The Swift Current Broncos started the 2011-12 WHL regular season, with a tough 5-1 loss to the Pats in Regina last night.

Brad Hoban got the Broncos on the board first, Ryan Switzer had the call on the Eagle 94.1.

But the Pats scored five unanswered after that, including two from forward Chandler Stephenson.

Austin Smith stopped 18 shots for the Broncos in the losing cause.

The two teams play again for the Broncos' home opener tonight at the Credit Union iplex. Fans are asked to come to the rink early for the Innovation Credit Union and Eagle 94.1's Ultimate iParty beginning at 2:00pm. The event includes food, activities for kids, a live broadcast of the Saskatchewan Roughriders game against the BC Lions, and a chance to win an Apple iPhone 4.

The game broadcast starts on the Eagle at 6:30pm, with the play-by-play from Shawn Mullin at 7:00pm.

Ryan Switzer talked with Broncos Assistant Coach Darren Evjen during last night's post-game show on the Eagle 94.1.
