The Swift Current Broncos suffered a 4-1 loss to the Saskatoon Blades Friday night in a crucial WHL East Division matchup at the Credit Union iplex.

Ryon Moser got the only goal for the Broncos after the Blades jumped out to a 3-0 lead on goals from Matej Stransky, Jesse Paradis and Lukas Sutter. Locke Muller scored into an empty net to seal the game late in regulation.

The Blades also outshot the Broncos 40-20, but Broncos goalie Jon Groenheyde kept it close with 36 saves. Alex Moodie made 19 stops in the Blades' net.

The Broncos sit 10th in the Eastern Conference and are nine points behind Brandon for the final playoff spot. They take on another team they're chasing for the playoff spot in the Red Deer Rebels on Pack the 'Plex night tonight.
