The Swift Current Broncos lost 5-3 to Edmonton on the road last night, despite holding an early 2-0 lead for the second game in a row.

Rookie Coda Gordon got his 19th of the season, and Andy Blanke scored his first of the year to build the lead, but the Oil Kings answered back with three unanswered goals from Kristians Pelss, Tyler Maxwell, and Mark Pysyk. Dalton Reum scored his fifth of the season for the Broncos to tie it up in the third, but the Oil Kings got two more later in the period from Griffin Reinhart and Curtis Lazar to put the game away.

Goalie Jon Groenheyde made 37 saves in the loss as the Oil Kings outshot the Broncos 42-17. Tristan Jarry made 14 stops in the Oil Kings' net.

The Broncos drop to 16-21-2-3, and are eight points behind Calgary for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. They have a few days off now and return to action Friday at home against Saskatoon.
