Four different players scored as the Swift Current Broncos broke out offensively in a 6-1 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings on Sunday.
The Broncos had only scored 6 combined goals in their previous 5 games.
"We just got pucks the the net," said Broncos defenceman Reece Scarlett. "We've been doing a pretty good job of that lately and the bounces weren't going our way. We didn't get frustrated we just kept throwing pucks to the net and today we broke through and got some goals."
Graham Black led the charge for the Broncos with 2 goals and an assist. His line with Ryon Moser and Coda Gordon combined for 3 goals and 6 points.

"He's done an unbelievable job so I think it takes a bit of the pressure off him if we can see some of the other guys start the score. It's really good for our confidence."
Colby Cave also had a 2-goal game, while Moser and Levi Bews had the other goals for Swift Current. Scarlett and Dillon Heatherington each had 2 assists as Scarlett passed the 100 career assist mark.
"Everybody wants to score goals sometimes it doesn't happen," Scarlett said. "You've just got to stick with it. We played a good strong team game and it paid off."
While scoring had been at a premium as of late, the Broncos have continued to play tight defensive hockey as they've only allowed 4 goals in their three games over the weekend.
Highlights of Sunday's game"We're playing as a five-man unit," Scarlett noted. "Our forwards are coming back hard. We're taking away the house and only allowing shots from the outside. (Goalie Eetu Laurikainen) has been playing fantastic all season long and he's continuing that right now."
The Broncos controlled the pace of the game right off the start as Black opened the scoring after a nice feed from Moser and Swift Current outshot Brandon 15-7 in the first period.
"I thought they had a push back early in the second and early in the third," said Broncos Assistant Coach Darren Evjen. "We just stuck to our game plan, continued to work, do the little things right and it paid off."
Swift Current broke the game open in the second half of the second period off goals by Bews, Moser and Black's second of the game. They added to it with Cave's goals in the third period. Eric Roy had the only Wheat King goal.
"(Saturday in Medicine Hat) we had these same chances and didn't score," sadi Evjen. "If the foundation and process is there you're going to get results eventually and (Sunday) we did."
Laurikainen made 22 saves to get the win for Swift Current, while Corbin Boes made 36 saves in a losing cause for Brandon. Both teams only had two opportunities on the power play, with Swift Current scoring on one of their opportunities.
The win keeps the Broncos in 7th place in the Eastern Conference, a point ahead of 8th place Kootenay and now 5 points ahead of 9th place Lethbridge. Swift Current plays the Wheat Kings again in Brandon on Wednesday.
