For the first time in four years, the Swift Current Broncos have posted an operating surplus.

The financial details of the season were released at last night's Annual General Meeting.  The team posted a budget surplus of about $161,000.

A major factor for the surplus was the $328,000 the team received from the Western Hockey League for things like Memorial Cup and World Junior revenue, plus expansion fees from Chilliwack and Edmonton.  The money allowed the balance sheet cash to again reach over the $1 million mark

The extra money also allowed the organization to pad the Education Fund by $80,000 over and above the $78,000 in liability.

Revenues were up but so were expenses over last season.  The hockey club hopes to add $150k-200k annually in revenues from the new luxury suites.
