Broncos Prepare For Bantam Draft Tomorrow

There is no question what position the Swift Current Broncos are targeting with the 5th overall pick in tomorrow's WHL Bantam Draft.

"Are we going to take impact forward this year, absolutely, it's no secret everybody in the hockey juniour world out this way knows that's what were doing.”, said Assistant General Manager and Head Scout Jamie Porter, “ We have depth in our forward positions but we think that now we an opprotunity add guy that will be dynamic and lead us in the future.”

Porter adds that they're looking at forwards and defensemen may come with later picks, “Where were picking five I probably don't even have a d-man right around there. We're fortunate that we needed a top forward and the top eight or nine guys look like they're forwards that will be what we're doing. Will we take a d with our second pick or a third pick most likely.”
