The Swift Current Broncos flipped the script.

After coming from behind to tie Saturday's game against Moose Jaw only to lose in the final four seconds of regulation, the Broncos reversed that result on Wednesday against Portland.

Up 4-2 late in the third period the Broncos couldn't hang on and Portland tied the game. This time it was Swift Current pulling off the last second magic as Colby Cave's power play with only 13.5 seconds to play gave his club a 5-4 victory over the four time defending western conference champions.

Cave had a goal and an assist on the night, while defenceman Max Lajoie led the way offensively for Swift Current with two goals and a helper. Dakota Odgers and Zac Mackay scored the other Broncos goals. Brett Lernout and Jake DeBrusk each had two assists.

Paul Bittner scored twice for Portland late in the game to tie it up. They also got goals from Miles Koules and Chase De Leo.

Landon Bow stopped 27 of the 30 Portland shots he faced to earn the win. Veteran Bolton Pouliot allowed five gols on 20 Swift Current shots.

Nex action for the Broncos is Friday at home against Regina. They will then visit the Pats on Saturday. You can hear both games on The Eagle 94.1 FM starting with our pre-game show at 6:30pm.
