It was a stunning, come-from-behind victory for the Swift Current Broncos, who scored five unanswered goals to rally from a 4-0 deficit and beat the Brandon Wheat Kings 5-4 at the Credit Union iplex Saturday night.

The Wheat Kings jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first period on goals from Brenden Walker, Alessio Bertaggia, and Darian Dziurzynski, then WHL leading scorer Mark Stone added another in the second to make it 4-0.

Graham Black put the Broncos on the board with his 8th goal of the season in the second period, then rookie Daniel Dale opened the third with his first career WHL goal to make it 4-2. Ryon Moser and Christian Magnus later scored in the third, then Dale scored the go-ahead marker with 8:29 to go in regulation, which proved to be the game winner.

Dale was named the game's first star in a breakout game for the 18-year-old forward. He said post-game that they were down losing 4-0 to the best team in the Eastern Division: "in most cases you never come back from that, but we assessed the game and we felt that we could still come back... Brandon was definitely tired tonight and we took advantage of it in the end, we knew that we could win, and we just followed through and worked hard, and it paid off."

Magnus added two assists for a three-point night, and Black also had a helper of his own. Goalie Jon Groenhyde made 30 saves for the victory, while Brandon Anderson made 28 saves in the Wheat Kings' net.

The Broncos now embark on a two-week US road swing, and will kick it off in Spokane on Wednesday.
