Bobby Zinkan

The Swift Current Broncos have re-assigned defenceman Bobby Zinkan to the Calgary Northstars of the AMHL.

The 16-year-old played the opening game of the WHL regular season in Regina and has been a healthy scratch since then.

Swift Current drafted the 5'9, 179lbs Calgary native in the 4th round of the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft. He scored 13 points in 32 games with the Northstars last season.

Zinkan's demotion leaves the Broncos with seven defencemen on the roster. Veteran Jordan Evans hasn't played since leaving their October 1st game in Moose Jaw with what is being described as an "upper body injury" on the WHL injury report.

Swift Current travels to Prince Albert on Thursday. They play a home and home with Medicine Hat on Friday and Saturday.

Both the Raiders and Tigers will have a new face in their line-up. Medicine Hat dealt overage forward Kellan Tochkin to Prince Albert for overage defenceman James Bettauer and a 6th round bantam draft pick in 2013.

Tochkin has registered 8 assists in 10 games this season, while Beattauer scored 5 times and had 4 assists in 15 games with the Raiders. Bettauer scored the overtime winner for Prince Albert in last Friday's game against Swift Current.
