The newest Swift Current Broncos prospects got their first taste of the organization this week.

They had on-ice sessions, tours of facilities and team meals as they got to know each other and the team.

That includes third round draft pick, goalie Ethan Hein who was impressed with what he saw.

"We've got some skilled guys - everyone can shoot, everyone can handle the puck, so I think we're all pretty good."

Defenceman Bryce Margetson, a 5th round pick, was also impressed with the orientation and his introduction to the organization.

"There's good competition, the coaches are good - I'd like to impress them and show them what I got."

The whole 2017 bantam draft class is in the city including forward Wyatt Marlow who grew up as friends with former Bronco Michael Stickland, who played for Swift Current during the 2008-09, 09-10 seasons.

"He's pretty excited for me. He said it was a great organization and that the guys here make it like a family, which is good."

Forward Massen Ziola says the orientation helped him figure what he needs to work on to get to the WHL one day.

"That's everything because it gives you things to work on to be able to move forward."

The orientation included both first-round picks Ben King and Joel Sexsmith.

Main camp starts today with fitness testing. On-ice sessions start tomorrow and the intrasquad game is set for Sunday.
