The Swift Current Broncos are another step closer to gettting down to roster numbers.

Sixteen-year-old Brandan Arnold has been re-assigned to the Tisdale Trojans of the Saskatcheawn Midget AAA league. Arnold impressed the Broncos in camp enough that they signed him to a standard WHL deal and kept him through the first two games of the regular season.

He was a 7th round bantam draft pick in 2012.

"The only reason we did it is we want him to get a lot of experience and a lot of ice time," said Broncos Coach/GM Mark Lamb. "He came in and he played great. I think he's what the Swift Current Broncos are all about. His intensity... he's a small guy but he plays hard."

Arnold had 2 assists and 10 penalty minutes in 6 pre-season games. He had 23 points in 41 games for the Trojans last season.

"He could play on our team right now," Lamb said. "We just don't have a lot of room for him and I don't want to make a mistake in not developing him."

The Broncos are now down to 15 forwards, 8 defenseman and 3 goalies on their roster.

"We're close," Lamb said. "Everybody who is here right now could play on our team. We've got a few options that I'm always looking at all the time about bettering our team. The kids that are here right now are practicing hard even the guys that aren't playing and I think they're going to be real good players at some point."

"We'll make a couple of moves in the next week. We have the flu bug going around right now so I really don't know what's going to happen."
