Two old WHL rivals face off this weekend in a key home-and-home series.

The Medicine Hat Tigers are a point up on the Swift Current Broncos for 6th in the Eastern Conference as both try to secure playoff spots.

Broncos Coach and GM Mark Lamb knows the Tigers are a tough challenge.

Interview with Broncos Coach/GM Mark Lamb"They're a lot more balanced than a lot of people give them credit for," Lamb said. "They've very skilled (and) they can blow it open pretty quick. Their third and fourth lines they have some depth there, their D are probably underrated and they've got great goaltending. We're right with them, they're right with us, we've probably got the size advantage and they've got the skill advantage. Which is better? We'll see."

The two clubs split a previous home-and-home set this season with each team winning on their home ice.

Lamb has been juggling his forward lines lately to try to get their offence going. He plans to go back to the combination of Adam Lowry, Colby Cave and Coda Gordon with some changes on the second and third lines as well.

"This team is still having a hard time scoring," Lamb said. "I think that is its makeup. We do a lot of other good things, we do create a lot of scoring chances, but we don't have that natural ability to just put it in there. That's what we've got. I'd like to get some good chemistry through the lineup so we can get some really good rhythm, but that's a work in progress."

The Broncos host the Tigers on Friday and visit Medicine Hat on Saturday. They then host Brandon on Sunday.
