The Swift Current Broncos are looking for another diamond out of Europe in the Canadian Hockey League import draft Tuesday morning.
They've bosltered their roster in recent years with the likes of Richard Nedomlel, Eetu Laurikainen, Julius Honka and Andreas Schumacher. Honka, Laurkainen and Nedomlel have all signed professional contracts in North America.
Broncos Coach and General Manager Mark Lamb noted it's getting more difficult to find a player that wouldn't carry a large cost.
"It's really hard," Lamb said. "There's a lot of European players and European teams that don't want their players coming... signing them to contracts, release fees and sometimes a team is not going to let him go."
"It makes the pool that much smaller for the Swift Current Broncos.
Lamb notes they will have Schumacher back next season so will only be drafting one player on Tuesday.
He doesn't have a preference for either position. outside of it being the right person and they're all good.
