The Swift Current Broncos have officially signed one of their eight 2017 WHL Bantam Draft selections.

Early Tuesday afternoon, the team announced they had inked forward Ben King to a WHL Standard Player Agreement.

The Broncos selected King with their second of two first round picks in the 2017 draft, taking the Vernon, BC native 13th overall.

"We're really excited to have King join this group," said Director of Hockey Operations Jamie Porter. "He's demonstrated his commitment to our program and we vision him being a solid two-way player for us in the future."

Measuring at 6'0", 159lbs, King spent the past season with the Pursuit of Excellence Bantam Prep. team, a member of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League.

In 22 regular season games, King posted 16 goals and 30 assists, while playing both offence and defence.

King was the 6th member of POE to be taken in the first 13 selections of the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft.
