The playoff push continues Wednesday night in Brandon for the Swift Current Broncos.

With nine games left in the WHL season they are sitting 7th in the Eastern Conference, a point ahead of 8th place Kootenay and 6 points ahead of 9th place Lethbridge.

"You're really playing for something now," said Broncos Coach/GM Mark Lamb. "That's the playoffs. You don't want to get all tight and nervous. We always say you have to tighten up and relax. If you're too nervous to go out there, stick-handle or make a play... you're not going to have any success at all."

The Broncos have nine games left on their regular season schedule. That includes games in Brandon Wednesday, Calgary on Friday and Red Deer on Saturday.

Swift Current had been struggling offensively lately with only 6 goals in 5 games before breaking out in a 6-1 win over the Wheat Kings on Sunday. There are still adjustments the coaching staff would like to see them make.

"Just to really simplify it I think we have to hit the net more," Lamb said. "I think on our out-numbered rushes we have to use our hockey brain and be more creative... there's opportunities out there where we can be creative and I think we could use that bit more."

The Broncos have earned 11 of a possible 12 points against the Wheat Kings so far this season. A loss for Brandon eliminates them from the playoffs for the first time in 13 seasons.
