The Moose Jaw Warriors scored four straight goals in the first 12 minutes of the second period en route to beating the Swift Current Broncos 5-2 last night in the Friendly City.

The Broncos got on the board with Coda Gordon scoring late in the first, but the Warriors responded with four unanswered goals in the second, with Warrior forward Justin Kirsch factoring in all of those goals with a marker and three helpers. Taylor Vause made it interesting in the third with his 27th of the season for the Broncos.

Goalie Jon Groenheyde made 19 saves over two periods of work, and Austin Smith took over in the final frame, stopping all six shots he faced.

With the loss, and Brandon's 3-2 win over Red Deer in regulation last night, Swift Current sits six points behind the 9th-place Rebels and 10 points back of the 8th-place Wheat Kings in the race for the final playoff spot.

The Broncos hit the road again Tuesday night when they travel to Saskatoon to take on the Blades.
