After four straight games against teams below them in the standings, the opposition gets tougher tonight for the Swift Current Broncos with the 3rd place Calgary Hitmen in town.

The coaching staff feels they need to play better than they did in a weekend split against Regina and Moose Jaw.

"No question we have to be sharper, that's a good statement, we have to be able to play better in every aspect," said Assistant Coach Jamie Heward. "Calgary is a very good hockey club. They are talented, they are big, they can skate, but we can match all that stuff and if we do we have a chance to win and that's what we ask for every night."

Heward added games against teams ahead of them like Calgary, Edmonton and Prince Albert will give them a chance to move up the standings if they can keep stringing wins together.

During Home Hardware's Overtime on Monday, Broncos defenceman Richard Nedomlel said they can't focus anything but the upcoming game.

Listen to Monday's episode of Overtime"Nothing we can do about the schedule," Nedomlel said. "We just have to be ready every game and leave everything on the ice, play as hard as you can, play sixty minutes. I think that's the best way to play."

The Broncos have played well against tough opposition this season including recent wins over the likes of Calgary and Prince Albert.

"On any given night any team can win," said defenceman Dalton Reum. "We beat Calgary the other night... it doesn't matter if you're in first place or last place, any team can beat anyone and it's just a matter of who wants it more."

We'll have the broadcast on The Eagle 94.1 with The New Pioneer Co-op Home Centre Broncos Hockey at 6:30pm.
