The Swift Current Broncos (9-1-1-0) bring one of the best records in all of junior hockey into two home games this weekend at the Innovation Credit Union iPlex.

They host the Saskatoon Blades (3-7-1-0) tonight in their third meeting of the season, and the Medicine Hat Tigers (8-4-0-0) on Saturday.

Now 11 games into the 2017-18 WHL regular season, the Broncos top line of Tyler Steenbergen, Glenn Gawdin and Aleksi Heponiemi are all still near the top of the WHL scoring race despite the increased attention they have been getting with their early success.

Broncos head coach and director of player personnel, Manny Viveiros, says the trio has enjoyed and embraced the challenge each game brings.

"They're facing everybody else's number one pair of defencemen and also their top line trying to shut them down. Having said that, the teams haven't been successful doing that. They enjoy that challenge, they know it's going to be a difficult night every single night. (Teams are) going to try to get them off their game whatever way they can. They really enjoy that challenge of trying to be the best every single night."

Steenbergen is the league's top scorer with 33 points (21 G, 12 A), while Heponiemi is tied for second with 30 (8 G, 22 A) and Gawdin sits alone in fifth with 25 (8 G, 25 A).

While the top line continues to roll, the Broncos haven't had any scoring from their 2nd, 3rd or 4th lines in their last four games.

"Those kids have had some really good looks - they've had some really good scoring opportunities, it's just a matter of being in that position to finish," said Viveiros. "We always say we worry when we don't have those opportunities - we are getting them. But still, in those situations when the pucks aren't going in for you, you've got to simplify your game even more and what we've got to do is bring more players towards the net and get more pucks on net."

Due to coverage of the world series on The Eagle 94.1, tonight's Robertson Family Group Broncos Hockey broadcast will be live on Magic 97 at 6:30 p.m.
