Five different Broncos scored as Swift Current beat Brandon 5-1 on Wednesday night. The Broncos won both sets of a home and home with the Wheat Kings by a combined score of 10-4.

Full Coaches Show"The overall game I thought we played very good defensively," said Broncos Assistant Coach Darren Evjen. "Our penalty kill was good... we played a very good road game."

Adam Lowry opened the scoring by deflecting a Richard Nedomlel point shot at 3:07 of the first period. Swift Current ended up going 1 for 5 on the power play and holding Brandon to 0 for 5.

Chance Lund extended Swift Current's lead as he ripped a shot over the glove of Cobin Boes after a couple of quick passes from Brycen Martin and Coda Gordon. Ryon Moser then converted a breakaway to give the Broncos a 3-0 edge after a dominant first period.

"We just seemed to coming with a lot of speed," Evjen said. "Moving the puck quick, our forwards really seemed to have a step on their D... you get those opportunities because you're moving your feet. We just seemed quicker."

Swift Current kept building on the lead as Tanner LeSann and Graham Black added insurance late int he second period. Levi Bews and Lund had 2 point nights for the Broncos.

Full HighlightsBrandon put some pressure on the Broncos in the third period as they outshot Swift Current 12-4 and John Quenneville broke Eetu Laurikainen's shutout. The Wheat Kings then had two late chances on the power play and couldn't convert.

"In the third period we just wanted to play a good sound road third period," Evjen said. "Get pucks deep, good line changes and smart decisions."

Laurikainen stopped 24 of 25 Brandon shots to get the win. Boes made 26 saves for the Wheat Kings in a losing cause. The win moved the Broncos 4 points ahead of the Wheat Kings into a tie for 2nd place in the East Division.

Next action for the Broncos is at home on Friday against the Spokane Chiefs. It's Spokane's only visit to Swift Current over a two-year span. The Broncos will then host Brandon again on Saturday.
