A complete effort by the Swift Current Broncos led them to a 3-1 win over Regina on Friday night.

"It was one of the more solid defensive games we've had," said Broncos associate coach Josh Dixon. "We really limited the chances Regina got in the prime scoring areas."

"They had a couple in the second and when they did Landon (Bow) was there."

Bow stopped 32 Regina shots including a couple of highlight worthy stops when it was 2-1 Broncos in the second period to earn the win.

Jake DeBrusk, Carter Rigby and Coda Gordon scored for Swift Current and they were able to hold a two-goal lead in the third period.

"I thought we kept them to the outside," Rigby said. "Guys weren't trying to be too selfish getting pucks down at he red line. Just give them nothing at the end of the day and playing hard on their d-men making them cough it up."

For Rigby it was his third power play goal in his last four games. His big one-timer is becoming a fixture on the Swift Current man advantage.

"Just getting lucky," he said. "I just close my eyes and shoot and they're going in."

It was also a very physical game from Rigby and his teammates. They established a big hitting plan of attack and won a lot of battles.

"If I feel like I'm hitting and moving my feet that's a big part of my game," Rigby noted. "I try to get out early and make something happen like that and get engaged in the game."

"You can just tell guys on this team don't like us and we don't like them. It was a big win here and we're going to their barn (Saturday) hoping to do the same thing."
