Eight potential members of this season's Swift Current Broncos roster are set to be part of NHL camps.

Max Lajoie (Ottawa), Glenn Gawdin (Calgary), Lane Pederson (Arizona), Tyler Steenbergen (Arizona), Colby Sissons (New Jersey), Aleksi Heponiemi (Florida), Artyom Minulin (Minnesota) and Sahvan Khaira (Edmonton) are attending NHL camps are at least participating in prospecct tournaments for NHL clubs.

Lajoie and Pederson are perhaps the most likely to graduate to professional hockey this season. Both are signed by their respecive NHL teams and as 20-year-olds are eligible to play in the AHL.

Gawdin is also 20 and eligible for AHL action, but Swift Current's captain doesn't yet have a contract with the Flames or any other NHL club.

Sissons is entering his second camp with the Devils and had previously signed an NHL entry-level contract with the club. As a 19-year-old he can only turn pro this season if he stays in the NHL.

Khaira and Minulin are both also 19 this season and as undrafted free agents are hoping to land deals for their future.

These are the first camps for Steenbergen and Heponiemi after getting picked in June's NHL Entry Draft. Both would also have to make their NHL clubs to stick with a professional team this season and are likely to return to the Broncos for at least one more season.

Swift Current continues their pre-season on Friday in Lethbridge. They will then host the Hurricanes on Sunday at Fairview West Arena.
