There should be some speed on display tonight in Lethbridge as the Swift Current Broncos visit the Hurricanes for their first match-up of the season.

Lethbridge has had some ups and downs this season but Broncos associate coach Ryan Smith expects a tough test.

"They're a very good team," Smith said. "I think they're playing a little bit under where they are usually are, they have been coming on (as of lately). They went out West and beat a couple of good teams in Everett and Portland. They've got three lines that can score with some dynamic players and a great goaltender."

Smith also acknowledged they will be dealing with a team that can skate.

"They have lots of speed, that should cater well to us, we've been skating quite well. It should be a really good match up, you've got two pretty good teams that have been playing well the last week, so it should be an exciting game," he noted.

This is the third game out of four for the Broncos this week and they're coming off a 5-1 over Saskatoon and 3-1 win in Prince Albert.

The line of newcomer Ryan Graham with Lane Pederson and Kaden Elder have played a big part in the Broncos success this week.

Elder attributes the lines success to a number of factors.

"I think we all just move our feet, play smart hockey, do the simple things and (see the ice well) to make the plays and that's how we put the pucks in the net," Elder said.

Elder has notched two goals in his last three games and is hoping his scoring touch continues.

"(The puck) is starting to bounce my way, I think I just have to keep playing the way I am, working hard, and finding the open spots because with who I am playing with right now they will hit me when i am open. I just have to make sure I keep it simple and find the open spots (on the ice) so i can put the puck in," he said.
