Jake DeBrusk scored twice and had an assist as the Swift Current Broncos beat Saskatoon 6-2 on Saturday.

Both his goals were deflections of Brett Lernout point shots as DeBrusk reached the 30 goal mark for the first time in his young career.

Griffin Foulk, Colby Cave, Tanner LeSann and Carter Rigby also scored for Swift Current in the win.

"The guys came out and just stuck with the system," Foulk said. "We tried to play the same way that we try to come out every night. The first one went in for us and we built on that. I don't think we quit until the end of the game."

Landon Bow made 28 saves to earn the win for Swift Current, while Brock Hamm made 39 saves in the Saskatoon goal.

The Broncos and Blades both went 1 for 4 on the man advantage.

It was the first game between the two teams since they swapped defencemen Jordan Thomson and Brycen Martin at the deadline. Both had an assist on the night.

With the win and a Moose Jaw loss in Brandon the Broncos move seven points ahead of the Warriors for the third and final guaranteed playoff spot in the East Division. Swift Current is six points back of Regina for second place.

The Broncos and Blades face-off again on Saturday night in Saskatoon. Friday night's game was the first of the teams playing five out of their next fifteen games against one another.

"These next couple games we play these guys a lot," Foulk said. "You've got to be physical with them to send a message and be strong."
