Adam Lowry scored a hat trick Saturday leading the Swift Current Broncos to a 7-1 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors. They earned the win for their home opener in front of over 2600 fans at the Credit Union iPlex.

Colby Cave opened the scoring at 7:03 of the first period, just under two minutes later Lowry made it 2-0 with a shorthanded goal.

Ryon Moser extended the Broncos lead to 3-0 early in the second, that was followed by a Lowry power play goal at 9:25 and then an even strength marker from Coda Gordon at 12:56. That spelled the end for Warriors starter goalie Justin Paulic, who allowed five goals on 19 shots, Daniel Wapple took over between the pipes which was also his WHL debut. Broncos goalie Eetu Laurikainen made 25 saves to earn his first WHL win.

Morgan Rielly put Moose Jaw on the board with a later power play goal in the second; in the third Josh Derko and Lowry added more insurance for Swift Current as they went on to hand the Warriors their first loss of the season. The Broncos went 2-for-5 on the power play and killed 4 of 5 Moose Jaw power plays.

The Broncos earned 3 of a possible 4 points over the weekend. Their next action is Wednesday at home against Regina.
