Good things certainly came in threes this week for new Swift Current Broncos forward Kye Buchanan, after the previously-unsigned asset inked a WHL Standard Player Agreement this morning.

Buchanan is fresh off a Mac's Midget AAA Tournament win with his St. Albert Raiders squad, who topped the Lethbridge Hurricanes 4-3 in a thrilling championship game.

After the Mac's title, and signing the WHL SPA, the trifecta of good news was rounded out shortly after.

On the 'Breakfast with Brockman' feature on the Broncos' website this morning, Swift Current Broncos Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Dean Brockman announced that Buchanan would be joining the team Sunday, and sticking with the blue-and-green for the remainder of the season.

Buchanan is a 6-foot-3, 187-pound forward, whose rights were dealt by the Spokane Chiefs to Swift Current, as part of the return for defenceman Noah King in a trade earlier this season.

The Lethbridge-born Buchanan had seven goals and 11 points in 16 games with the St. Albert Raiders in the AMHL, also suiting up with the AJHL's Lloydminster Bobcats for a handful.

In four games with the border city Bobcats, Buchanan recorded an assist.

Buchanan will join the Broncos a day after they take on the rival Regina Pats tonight at the Innovation Credit Union iPlex.
