With training camp just over a week away and the potential for a player strike looming, that didn’t stop the Saskatchewan Roughriders from having a busy day.

The Riders added two players on Tuesday, one with plenty of CFL experience and a Grey Cup championship, while the other spent the past four years in the National Football League.

Import linebacker Brandon Isaac — six-foot-three 208 pounds — was on the opposition sideline for the 2013 Grey Cup at Mosaic Stadium, now he’s going to be coming out of the Riders’ tunnel after signing with the team.

Isaac is a four-year CFL veteran that spent last season with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, but was released earlier this month.  He has 127 defensive tackles, 12 quarterback sacks and two interceptions in 60 career games.

The 29-year-old won the Grey Cup in 2012 as a member of the Toronto Argonauts.

Earlier in the day on Tuesday, the Riders locked up import defensive back Marshay Green, who turned heads during the team’s mini-camp in Florida.

The 28-year-old — five-foot-ten 183lbs —has spent time with the Arizona Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts, attending their training camp last season.

In college, Green played four seasons at Mississippi, posting 62 defensive tackles and two interceptions in 48 career games.  Green was named the defensive MVP of the 2009 Cotton Bowl.

Barring a players’ strike, the Riders will open rookie camp in Saskatoon next week.

Riders Hit Season Ticket Limit

If you were still hoping to pick up season tickets for the upcoming Saskatchewan Roughriders’ season, well you’re out of luck.

The team announced on Tuesday that they have reached the season ticket sales capacity of 26,700 tickets sold.  Mosaic Stadium will have a capacity of 33,427 for the 2014 season.

Single game tickets will go on sale to the public on May 31st at 10:00am.

Huclack Retires From CFL

Cory Huclack is calling it a career.  The Saskatchewan Roughriders non-import linebacker announced his retirement on Tuesday after seven seasons in the CFL.

The Winnipeg native appeared in 103 career regular season games and started with the hometown Blue Bombers in 2007 before being traded to Montreal later that season.

Huclack spent three seasons with the Alouettes before signing with the Riders for the 2010 season.  He served mostly as long snapper last season with the Riders, registering 12 special teams tackles.

Moose Jaw native Levi Steinhauer would be the likely replacement for Huclack at the long snapper spot after filling in during the playoffs and Grey Cup last season.
