Team Canada kicked off their quest for gold at the World Junior Hockey Championships with a 6-3 win over Russia yesterday, but it was a scrambly opener for the boys in Red and White.

Canada scored three times on the powerplay, however the talented Russians kept it close the whole game. Canada's goals came from Marcus Foligno, Ryan Ellis, Erik Gudbranson, Ryan Johansen, Brayden Schenn and Curtis Hamilton. Bronco Captain Cody Eakin was held off the scoresheet.

Team Canada returns to action tomorrow afternoon when they take on the Czech Republic, and you can hear the game on the Eagle 94.1 starting with the pre-game show at 2:30.
