A bounce back performance last night from Chelsea Carey and Team Canada at the 2016 Ford World Women's Curling Championship in Swift Current.

Following their first loss of the tournament yesterday morning to Team Russia 6-3, the Canadians got back into the win column with a 9-4 victory over a struggling Margaretha Sigfridsson and Team Sweden.

The two teams traded singles through the first four ends of the game, before momentum shifted in Canada's favour in the fifth end.

Facing three Canadian stones, Sweden elected to play a nose hit for a single point but Maria Prytz's rock over-curled and rolled out giving Canada a steal of two and a 4-2 lead at the break.

From the point on, Canada continued to apply the pressure.

The teams again exchanged singles in the sixth, seventh and eighth ends before Carey made a triple-takeout in nine to score two points and give her team a 7-4 lead coming home.

Sweden did have a shot for three in the tenth, however it was a low percentage angle raise double which was unsuccessful.

With the victory, Canada joins a log jam for first place with four other teams.

Along with the Canadians, Japan, Scotland, Switzerland and Russia all sit at 4-1 through three days of competition.

Carey and Team Canada will return to the ice tomorrow morning to face Germany before battling Italy tomorrow afternoon.
