Team Canada got the drive for five started last night at the World Junior Hockey Championships in Ottawa with a dominating 8-1 win over the Czech Republic.

John Tavares of the OHL's Oshawa Generals had a three-point night, including two goals.  Many are calling the 18-year-old Forward the best player in this tournament.  Tavares is being humble about it, saying there are so many great players, not just on team Canada, but on the other tournament teams.  He says he is just doing the best he can for a team that can win gold.

Watson, Saskatchewan, Goalie Dustin Tokarski backstopped the Canadians, making 21 saves for the win.  The Spokane Chiefs' netminder said starting in front of the home crowd at Ottawa's Scotiabank Place made this the biggest start of his life.

The round-robin continues for Canada against Kazakhstan.  You can hear it on the Eagle 94.1FM tomorrow afternoon starting at 2:30pm.
