Canada improved to 9-1, and locked up a spot in the 1 vs 2 page playoff game, after beating Russia 7-4 in today's morning draw at the Ford World Women's Curling Championships in Swift Current.

Skip Jennifer Jones says, getting the win today felt really good, especially after losing to Germany yesterday.  She thought they played well today, saying they never really got in trouble, and they controlled the game.

The win also sets up tonight's final round-robin draw, where Canada will take on Eve Muirhead and her Scottish rink to determine who starts with last rock in the page playoff game.

Jones says they've played against Muirhead at the World's and on tour, and they will approach her squad like any other team.  She says the Scots are playing well this week, and they have made a lot of great shots, and Canada will have to play well, and play for hammer.

Muirhead said after last night's win over the Americans that they are looking forward to playing against the host country.  She adds that it will be a tough match, but they will try to take it as any other game, and eliminate some of the distractions surrounding them by focusing on their sheet and their sheet only.

Muirhead will play against Russia this afternoon.  Also, Germany takes on Latvia, China plays the US, and Denmark faces Japan in other Draw 16 action.  It starts at 1:30pm from the Credit Union iplex.
