It was a red-letter day for Canada at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Canada's men's hockey team scored a big 7-3 blow-out win over the Russians in quarter-final action, including a pair of goals from Corey Perry and 25 saves from Roberto Luongo.

Alex Ovechkin and the Russians are done, while Canada moves on to tomorrow's semi-finals.  They'll play Slovakia, who knocked off the defending champions from Sweden, 4-3, in the other quarter-final.  The US meets Finland in the other semi-final tomorrow.

Adding to that big win for Canada, our athletes picked up some more hardware.  Canada won four medals on Day 13.  They earned a gold and silver in the women's bobsleigh; the women's 3000 metre short-track speedskating relay team wound up with a silver, while on the long-track, Clara Hughes added a bronze in the 5000 metre race, which was her final Olympic race.

Canada is now at 15 medals, including seven gold, with at least one more coming today.  Canada takes on the US for gold in women's hockey, while Kevin Martin and Cheryl Bernard have semi-final games on the curling ice.
