Action from the 2010 Ford World Womens Curling Championships in Swift Current

A steal of three in the eighth end helped Edmonton's Heather Nedohin and Team Canada get past the USA 8-7 in their opening game of the Ford World Women's Curling Championships in Lethbridge on Saturday.

Canada takes on China this afternoon and Switzerland tonight.

Meanwhile, Scotland escaped with an 8-7 win over Russia in their opening game, as Russian skip Anna Sidrova ended up just light on her final shot to nudge the Scottish shot stone off of the button. Swift Current's Kelly Wood, who won silver as a third with Scotland at the 2010 Worlds, is the alternate for Eve Muirhead's rink who will have games against Germany and Denmark today.
