Team Canada started their quest for a sixth-straight gold medal at the World Junior Hockey Championships with a huge 16-0 blowout win over Latvia.

     Gabriel Bourque, from Baie-Comeau in the Quebec League, had a hat trick and four assists.  He tied a Team Canada World Junior record for most points in a game, with seven.

     Regina Pats' Forward Jordan Eberle had a pair of goals, and Travis Hamonic of the Moose Jaw Warriors picked up a goal as well.

     Goalie Jake Allen stopped only 10 shots for the win, while Canada peppered the Latvian goalies with 66 shots.

     Canada's next game is tomorrow when they take on Switzerland in Saskatoon.
