The Swift Current Indians continue to relish the 2010 WMBL Championship after Saturday's 7-2 win in Regina to sweep the rain-shortened series 2-0.

The team gathered at Mitchell Field yesterday for a BBQ and billet slow-pitch game.  It was another opportunity to look back on their championship season.

Indians' pitcher Joey Evans was on the mound for the final out and recalls the chaos after getting the strike-out to win the series.

"Myself and catcher Brent Trask were tackled by (1st baseman) Kyle Albright, and that's when the dog pile started," stated a gleaming Evans. "So then you had the waves.  There was the catcher, pitcher, and first baseman.  Then the infield comes in, then the outfield, then the boys in the bullpen are jumping in the pile as well. I'm at the bottom and just getting crushed under the entire team.  It felt amazing. Best feeling in baseball, hands down."

Evans says it will be a summer to remember. "This summer has been amazing. It's been one of those that you'll remember forever.  The guys on this team were just quality.  Everybody likes everybody on the team. It's a special group of guys that were focused on one thing and wanted to get it done.   We're going to go our seperate ways, but we'll never forget each other. It's just one of those lifetime things. You'll always look back on the summer and say, 'That was it.'"

The team claims their first title since 2006 and 10th since 1992.

The Tribe will host their year-end banquet and awards ceremony tonight.
